Bergere

Happy New Year!

Let’s chat about January’s MMSMP Color of the Month. It’s our soft blue, Bergere!

Named for the cozy enclosed French-style armchair, Bergere is a light and airy shade of blue. It's more pastel than French Enamel and has less gray when compared with Colonial Blue.

Bergere is available in our new 100% natural, eco-friendly formula.

So how do you finish your painted pieces? Bergere changes colors from raw (no finish) to applying finishes. To see how this light blue changes with each finish, take a peek at this photo:

What to Pair with Bergere

We love pairing Bergere with antique textiles like homespun and hemp. It's the perfect soft background for chunky glass knobs and botanical wall decor.

Bergere is a part of the European Color Collection. It pairs well with the collection's colors, Arabesque, Layla’s Mint, Marzipan, Mora, and Schloss.

We also love the look of Bergere paired with pops of Mustard Seed Yellow or Sunkissed!

Now let’s look at a few pieces painted in Bergere!

Refreshed Furniture

The start of the New Year is the perfect time to switch up the furniture and decor in your home. While industry prices are rising, you may not be in a spot to buy new furniture, so it’s a great idea to repurpose what you have. MilkPaint™ is perfect for repainting your favorite furniture pieces for a refreshed look.

We love seeing furniture pieces refreshed with Bergere. Katie from For the Love Creations painted this set of dressers in Bergere. They were sealed with MilkWax™ Clear, and then she added some texture to the pieces using MilkWax™ Antiquing. *Tip: Using clear wax before our colored waxes helps you control any texture and aging.

Small Projects

You don’t need to paint an entire piece to change its look. Marion Gates from Omas Attic gave this vintage armchair a refresh. She reupholstered it with white linen and painted the arms and legs of the chair with Bergere.

Create a Custom Color

Meghan Bassano created this lovely hutch. She used Curio as a base coat, applying Hemp Oil to small areas as a resist. A resist will allow the base coat to be seen in areas after the final coat. Next, she applied her custom color. Bergere and Grain Sack were used to create this beautiful custom color! Meghan then applied Farmhouse White to the beadboard of the hutch. To seal this piece she used clear wax.
