The Story Behind Lucketts Green

Lucketts is the name of a town in Virginia. This cozy hamlet is the home of The Old Lucketts Store - an amazing antique shop where Miss Mustard Seed used to have a booth. Every spring, Marian (aka Miss Mustard Seed) would take part in the Lucketts Spring Market, curating the most beautiful antique finds and MMS MilkPainted furniture.

The color, Lucketts Green, was inspired by the shade of green on the cedar siding on The Old Lucketts Store.

New Powder, Same Spring Green Color

Our old formula of Lucketts Green was yellow in powder form. It didn’t turn green until water hit the powder and “woke up” the green pigments.

Our new formula is green both in powder and liquid form.

Lucketts Green Vs. Layla’s Mint And Boxwood

At the moment, we have 3 shades of green - Lucketts, Layla’s Mint and Boxwood. You can see how they all compare below.

Lucketts Green falls in the middle - it’s not as green as Boxwood, but it’s deeper than Layla’s Mint. It’s a perfect spring green that harkens back to the 1940’s. It’s classic, vintage and oh so fresh!
