Get Your Creative Juices Flowing By Trying A New Color

Feeling bored?

Let’s spice it up!

Ever find yourself feeling bored and uninspired? Today we’re going to talk about one simple way to spice things up and get those creative juices flowing again!

Whether you are casually painting decor for your home or flipping furniture for a profit, it’s likely that painting brings you joy! It’s also likely that somewhere along your furniture painting journey, you’ll find yourself unmotivated. When I find myself there, I try a couple of different things, and today we’re going to highlight a super simple option that will have you feeling eager to pick up a paintbrush!

Ready for it?

TRY A NEW COLOR!

That’s it!! Super simple! Super doable!

If you’re like me, you may have a solid selection of colors you go to time and time again because you just love them! I tend to stick to blues, greens, and neutral colors. The thing about trying a new color is that you could still pick something that’s comfortable to you - maybe a new shade of a color family you love- or you could go wild and choose something you’ve never chosen before!

For those of us who are visual processors, here are just a few of the colors currently available in the MMSMP paint line! Currently, there are 21 colors (with more to come soon!) so if you’re looking for something particular, head over to the color tab here on the website, and be sure to check out the other options!

Ironstone

A classic choice! Inspired by the earthenware, Ironstone is a true white. If you are a furniture flipper and are finding that furniture isn’t moving quickly and you’re feeling discouraged, try painting with Ironstone to get sales going! A tried and true choice, you simply can’t go wrong with this one!

Curio

I don’t love the color brown. I mean, I paint furniture for a living to cover up brown! But, THIS BROWN? It’s rich, deep, earthy, and free of red and orange tones. And it makes for an amazing stain. You can see on both this desktop and tabletop that when used as a stain, Curio offers amazing coverage and is a beautiful tone. How amazing that you can use a natural product instead of a chemical-based product to accomplish this look?! Head over to this blog post for all the details on how to use Curio as a stain!

Ink Blue

My favorite! This was used on the base of the desk above and also on this buffet. A deep, stormy blue, Ink Blue can take on a classic look when paired with Boxwood. Interested in a more dramatic take? Try pairing it with our next color, Mustard Seed Yellow!

Currently available for sale and can be shipped nationwide! Click here for more information!

Mustard Seed Yellow

If you love all things fall, this yellow is for you! A deep, earthy yellow, Mustard Seed Yellow will have you dreaming of Autumn in mid-July!

Sunkissed

A whole other take on yellow, Sunkissed is bright and cheery! I love to pair this yellow with pops of neon pink or bright turquoise. This happy yellow will be a welcomed addition whether used on a small decor item or a large statement piece!

Teal Ocean

This blue will transform any space in the best of ways! Tropical and cheerful, this blue is sure to leave you feeling inspired! Looking to replicate this two-tone look? Pair Teal Ocean with Ironstone!

Love this cabinet? It’s available for purchase here!

Tricycle

Remember that little three-wheeler you had as a child? That’s the same red you’ll find here! A true red, Tricycle can’t help but call attention to itself! Looking to shake things up with a dramatic choice? Choose tricycle!

Typewriter

Iconic. Typewriter is not your average flat, black paint. It is full of dimension, character, and color. It can be spotted a mile away and is easily identifiable. If you’re looking for a color that is strong yet easy on the eyes, look no further!

This is just a quick glance at some of the MMSMP colors available. There are many more choices on the website!

Head on over, choose a new (to you!) color or two, and pick that paintbrush back up! If you’re really not sure what colors to choose, ask a family member or friend to pick them for you! (One time, I did this, and it was really fun to see what they chose!) Then, once your paint arrives, be sure to take a picture and tag us on social media so we can share your creation and inspire others to try something new, too! After all, creativity breeds creativity!

Can’t wait to see which colors you choose!  Happy painting!
