Let’s chat about December’s MMSMP Color of the Month. It’s our bright white, Ironstone!

Named after the dense earthenware, Ironstone is our second brightest white. A favorite among milk painters and antique lovers alike, Ironstone falls in between Titanium White and Farmhouse White.

Ironstone is available in our new 100% natural, eco-friendly formula.

So how do you finish your painted pieces? Ironstone changes colors from raw (no finish) to applying finishes. To see how this white changes with each finish, take a peek at this photo:

How does Ironstone compare to our other whites? Ironstone is the brightest white of our current whites. This makes it the perfect white to lighten colors.

Now let’s look at a few pieces painted in Ironstone!

Refreshed Furniture

We love seeing furniture pieces refreshed with Ironstone. This dresser was painted in Ironstone by Anna from Sky Lark House. She paired it will simple gold knobs and vintage green glass bottles.

Dawn & Co refinished this armoire with Ironstone. We love the look of this armoire with the antique pulls, wood tones, and Ironstone stoneware. Notice the pattern on the interior of the armoire, Ironstone can be paired with wallpaper or painted patterns to add interest to any furniture piece.

Chippy and Distressed

An easy way to achieve an antique look is by distressing your piece and using a chippy technique. This piece by Morgan Ann Adams from Revivals Furniture Co. is a beautiful example.

At Home on SweetCreek added the distressed look to this dresser. We love the use of a dresser between two beds as a nightstand. The distressing on this dresser pairs beautifully with the antique bed frames.

Painted by Heart by Hand also used the choppy and distressed look on this armoire. Isn’t it just lovely!
