Flow Blue
Our founder, Marian Parsons (aka Miss Mustard Seed®), is a lover of all things blue and white. When she originally created Miss Mustard Seed’s® Milk Paint, she included a vibrant shade of blue inspired by the patterns she enjoyed on delicate china sets.
We are just as in love with this shade of blue now as we were when the line first launched. So it’s with great pleasure that we announce the re-release of Flow Blue in our new non-toxic, eco-friendly, all-natural formula!
The inspiration for Flow Blue came from the blurry patterns found on flow blue china.
Let’s compare Flow Blue with some of the other shades of blue in our line! If you look at the image below, you’ll see in order from bottom to top, French Enamel, Flow Blue, and Ink Blue. Notice how French Enamel is a little softer and lighter than Flow Blue. Also, notice how Ink Blue is much deeper and darker than Flow Blue.
It’s hard to pick just one, isn’t it?
Flow Blue is a striking color, and it gets your attention right away when you see it.
It pairs well with beautiful pops of Mustard Seed Yellow and crisp shades of white, like Ironstone. You can even layer Flow Blue with Ink Blue or French Enamel for a lovely two-toned look. For example, this dresser was painted by MMSMP Team Member, Jenn Baker, in Ink Blue first. Then, a beeswax resist was applied, followed by a layer of Flow Blue. Some MilkWax™ Antiquing gave it a perfectly aged finish.
Jenn was inspired by this jelly cabinet refinished by Miss Mustard Seed®. Doesn’t Flow Blue look so nice next to the bright pops of green? Boxwood would make a lovely companion color as well!
